Punch Bag Workout
Turns out I pull a funny face when breathing with my punch.
So today is day 51 and there is only 9 days to go until mine and Johns final pictures. I think we’re both pretty nervous about the seeing what our culmination of 60 days of Fighting Ourselves Fit will look like. Guaranteed though – we will definitely look a hell of a lot better then our shocking day 1 photos.
With Day 60 looming, both me and John are now pulling out all the stops and working even harder in every single punch bag workout – that’s not saying we weren’t before :-), but the fitter you are the harder you can work… and we are really benefitting from this. Not only that, but all the techniques are now engrained into our memories which means in turn we can complete more combinations, improving both our fitness and technique.
It was time for Power & Speed 1 today, lots of press-ups, squats, triceps work and squat pulses – along with the speed and power punching on the bag. One of my favourite exercises in this workout (it didn’t used to be) is the sixers under the bag. Crunches with punches – basically crunching up and hitting the underneath of the bag before lowering back down.
Back in week one I can remember struggling with these. I was just about managing to crunch up and tap the bag, basically just going through the motions to get it done. – 7 weeks on and I am powering the punches up through the bag, concentrating on my ab’s and obliques whilst twisting my body into every single punch. It really does make a difference and leaves your stomach on fire.
Looking forward to punch bag workout Technique 2 Tomorrow.
Cheers, Steve.
