So today was the day that we reached the 8th workout – Power & Speed 4 – and as you would have guessed this was another jump up in difficulty. Why I didn’t realise this before I started the workout is beyond me!
I ambled out to the garage putting on my wraps with a spring in my step. I still felt fresh from the weekend break. I did the warm-up and started the skipping. “Oh it’s going to be a breeze today.. I’m on it” I thought. The shadow boxing was good, slowly easing me in. I really was lulled into a sense of calmness then BANG – Round the clock press-ups – and squat pulses – Noooooo..
Basically the whole workout carried on in the same vein. next round involved stance split jumps, I was breathing out of places I didn’t think were possible to breathe out of…
Then onto power punching and “V-sit-ups”, back to split stance jumps and punching, then back on to another round of power punching and “V-sit-ups”. There seemed to be no let-up – It was really hard, but it was bloody excellent.
Finally 2 rounds of keeping up with Corney’s combinations on the bag to finish off the workout (finishing me off too!).
You are probably getting my drift – today was hard, but I feel great and have a small sense of achievement in myself for getting it done:-) .
Back to Tech workout one tomorrow – really looking forward to revisiting what I started in week one to see how my technique and fitness has improved over the weeks.
