Body Blasting Workout
Workout Technique 4 today, just 2 days until me and John have to post our new embarrassing pics.
The workout went well this morning although I was feeling a little jaded from yesterday’s body blasting workout from Power & Speed 3. Today I just wanted to concentrate on speed and technique. I challenged myself to perform as many repetitions of the combinations as I possible could in the round time – all the whilst trying to keep my technique correct.
As I’ve said in a previous post, I find thinking about getting your hands back to your own face as quickly as possible really helps with the speed of your punches. You’d think that if I was just concentrating on speed and not power it would make the workout easier – Yep – that’s definitely not true – I walked out of the garage in a soaking wet t-shirt breathing even harder than normal. Tomorrow I will concentrate on just power and see how I get on 🙂
On another note
I’m really impressed with how far we’ve come in such a short space of time. I’m especially impressed with John. If I’m really honest, knowing John all these years, I didn’t think he’d be able to stick to it – shows how much I know!. He’s done brilliantly – well done John.
I do believe the secret to why John’s been keeping up with the routine is the variety of the workouts and the fact that with these workouts you’re learning new stuff or performing different exercises each day.
From someone who has done boxing before, I’m really am loving it. It gives me a chance to perfect the techniques in an easy to follow structured way. As I’ve said before, I’ve had loads of different bags hanging in my garage over the years, all bought with good intention but rarely used. Embarrassingly – I can say with all honesty, the bag I use now has seen more action in the last 3 and a half weeks than all of the bags I’ve ever had over the last 23 years!
So if you’re reading this and you have an unused bag gathering dust in your garage, shed, attic or basement etc. – Why not join in with the challenge, make the most of your bag and get yourself Fighting Fit!
Cheers, Steve.
