Punch bag training – Hello people, so I woke up a bit achy today, but that good all over body ache where you feel you’ve done some good in your life. To be fair I ache a lot less than I thought I would, especially after all my inactivity from the previous months. But that is the beauty of these workouts, 30 minutes and it’s done and you’ve got enough energy to do it again the next day – depending on how hard you’ve pushed it 🙂
Off to do “Speed & Power Workout 1” wish me luck!
The Workout
Loved it! – it really was like being back in the gym with Corney again, including the shouting of encouragement from the sidelines. I sweated so much I managed to produce my very own puddle in the middle of the garage. Had a bit of a nightmare with the press-up / triceps exercises – again I blame it on the weight and I will keep blaming it on the weight until I’ve lost it all and can think of another excuse 🙂
Really enjoyed the 1, 2, step to the side as it allowed me to concentrate on the delivery of the cross. Twisting my hips and turning my back foot in to generate more power.
Eating & Drinking
I’m sure you’ve all heard the saying “you can’t out-train a bad diet” and that is very true. So I’ve gone straight from lots of eating and drinking to a no alcohol and clean eating plan. It’s only been 2 days and it may seem a bit premature, but I think I’m feeling the benefits already and that’s just with the stopping alcohol.
I have a funny relationship with beer, first I’ll be having a few over the weekends and then over the months they seem to creep into week days too, meaning some days I can wake up in a blur. Don’t get me wrong I’m not talking 12 pints a night, just the odd one or two 🙂 but calorie-wise and positive thinking-wise this is not a great life habit to get into.
Plus.. alcohol can get me reaching for the crisps (or chips for you lovely people from the states) another bad habit I’ve picked up of late. I could easily sit down for my Friday or Saturday night escape and knock back 4 bottles of beer and a few packets of crisps – That’s over a 1000 needless calories right there… although I still love crisps…
Onwards and Upwards
Looking forward to my punch bag training Tech 1 tomorrow – this time around I will definitely concentrate on the techniques rather than focussing on just making it through the 30 minutes of punch bag training…
Cheers, Steve.
