Boxing Workout – Technique 4 (Close Up)

That’s Week 3 done!  Another milestone and another big step towards the 60-Day mark.  I’m feeling a significant difference in terms of weight loss, muscle gain and even more confident my boxing skills.

Highlight today? – the ‘step around’.  That will take some more training to get right.  Jab, Cross, Jab Cross, Step Around, Body Hook, Head Hook, Cross.  It’s a long combo!

I have 2 goals for next week.  Firstly, to make a concerted effort to focus on my technique.  I’ve experienced all 4 of the technique workouts now.  And although I’m more familiar with the routines and combinations, I think it’s wise to ‘go back to basics’ and double check my form is correct.  I’m conscious I could fall into bad habits, and the longer I progress through the program the more difficult it might be to correct it any errors.  I’ll be going through the ‘Technical Help Video’ again this weekend – and practicing without the pressure of a full-on workout.

My second goal is to watch my diet.  I don’t think I’m doing too badly, but it needs some more thought and may be a few adjustments.  I’m determined not to undo all my hard physical work.  And there’s possibly some improvements to make in food choices – all this effort needs to count!

Is it Friday?  Please say it is!  Rest and recovery…..

Cheers, John.

P.S.  I’m amazed at the amount of washing that’s accumulated.  As a testament to this workout I can safely say there’s zero chance of my gear passing the ‘sniff test’ and making it through to the next day.  My clothes are taking more of a battering than my muscles.  I’m happy the days are now getting warmer – but that means I sweat more!
