Boxing Training Workout
Me getting the uppercut in before the left hook 🙂
It’s True – Today – I Love Mondays
Now, this isn’t a phrase I’m known for saying, to be fair I don’t know anyone who does, but I’ve had a great weekend. The sun was out for it’s entirety, I had great fun walking the dog and spending time with the kids. To top it all off the Rugby was on, and England… well we didn’t win the whole tournament, but we beat France and the game was fantastic. 100% effort from the team and 100% effort from me shouting from the sofa!
So, it’s Monday – I’ve had 2 full days of rest and the kids are back at school – time to hit the bag – and even better it’s a new workout today!!
Technique Workout 3 – Long Range
Excellent – back “on it” today. I feel faster and stronger than ever. It’s a little off-putting watching this video because I actually star in it. To make things worse, there are certain things I should have been doing better throughout – tut tut – unfortunately I’ve got some sloppy straight punching going on for everyone to see :-(.
As I was in this workout, you’d expect me to remember the running order of it, but there’s still stuff in there that makes me go “oh yeah I love this combo”.
My favourite combination today was in round 3 – It concentrates on hitting up and down the body to confuse your opponent and when you get it right it feels absolutely brilliant. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, when you hit the combinations perfectly with correct technique, it really is an amazing feeling.
7 to 1 today wasn’t a struggle at all – which I was surprised about after Friday – it just goes to show that you need to rest your body to get the best out of it. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t easy (it never is) but it felt a lot easier than Friday.
Lets hope this positivity lasts all week – I’m looking forward to smashing Power & Speed 2 tomorrow.
Cheers, Steve.
